Karneval i Aalborg goes back to 1983 where
the first carnival was held.
The intention behind the carnival is to create an arrangement, which is a
homage to spring and your phantasy.
The town is transformed into a gigantic theatre with the citizens as the performer,
the street as the stage and the body as a dancing sculpture. Today Karneval
i Aalborg is the largest carnival in Northern Europe, and of cause no carnival
in Aalborg without Dunkelfolket.
Dunkelfolket has left their mark on the carnival since 1988.
Karneval i Aalborg is always in week 21. There are 3 main events:
